CONGRATULATIONS HECTOR ARANA

November 19, 2009, Americus, GA – Star Racing would like to congratulate Hector Arana for winning the 2009 NHRA Pro Stock Motorcycle Championship.  A fitting end to a thrilling year for Arana, the championship came down to the final race of the season when Hector won by a mere two points, 2,590 versus Eddie Krawiec’s 2,588. 

Without a doubt, 2009 was the year of the “Hammer”.  Prior to this his 20th race season, Arana only had one win under his belt, 2008 Norwalk.  Once the dust had cleared, Hector scored five wins, eight number one qualifiers and set the E.T. record of 6.851.

A philosophical Arana summed up the 2009 race season with an insightful peek into this great competitors personality, “Never give up and you too can become a champion!” 

“Hector’s championship is a testament that hard work and perseverance pays off,” said Derek Churchwell, Star Racing General Manager.  “You could say Hector wrote the book on how to be a winner.  He attended the Frank Hawley Pro Stock Motorcycle Drag Racing School when he purchased the S&S powered motorcycle from G2/Star last year and his first time down the track on that motorcycle set a personal E.T. record.  From that point on he continued improving and fine tuning his riding skills.  Even in the face of adversity with losing a crew member towards the end of the season, Hector stood tall, didn’t lose his focus and continued working towards the championship.  He did a great job and all of the guys here at the shop are very proud of his accomplishment.  Congratulations Hector!”
