Star Racing's XR 145 Bike Build Project Photos

Why an XR 145? Why two front heads? … Because we can!! The XR style is cool. Two pipes coming out of the front of the heads and two intakes out of the rear of the heads look like the old XR 750 that Harley-Davidson raced for years. We wanted to try that idea on an S&S 145” engine. We couldn’t decide whether we wanted to do two front heads or two rear heads, but we decided to try it with two front heads first. Maybe on the next project we’ll try it with two rear heads just for fun! The results of these ideas became a very interesting motorcycle. It sounds different and looks different than any other Dyna we’ve ever seen, and the darn thing is STUPID FAST! It made 209 rear wheel horsepower and 190 ft. lbs. of torque at the tire when we dynoed it! We’re talking – POWER! Click to view photos from start to finish!
